“Cómo va lo mió” is only one of the options available to check your citizenship status.
But there are many more, as indicated below.
What are those alternatives?
You can check the status through the website “carpeta ciudadana”, using a digital certificate. On this website, you will be able to check almost all the files opened with the administration (not only citizenship). Access it here.
You can also go to the Ministry of Justice headquarters in Madrid and ask in person. In that sense, the civil registry would NOT work for the same purpose.
You can also fill out the contact form on the Ministry of Justice website so that a public servant can respond to you by email with the nationality status, which he or she will check manually. Here is the contact form.
Another very useful option is to call the citizen’s service number from the Ministry. You will simply need to give your NIE to receive the information. If you do not have a registration number, we recommend that you use this route, as you will be given one; in addition, you will be informed of the status of the file. The number is 902 007 214 – 91 837 22 95.
Finally, the safest and most convenient option of all: contacting a lawyer. Our team is ready to help you check the status of your nationality or immigration file. We will give you detailed and updated information in record time:
